Suggested Topics:Your proposal topic must be chosen from the following list of proposal ideas. (You should create names for people and organizations for the project):

  • 1) Imagine that a company has some sort of problem or wants to make some sort of improvement. It sends out a request for proposals; you receive one and respond with a proposal. Dear Career Consulting Company. I am interested in joining your staff as a general manager/human resources for several reasons. I feel I am equipped with the necessary knowledge and degree requirements to help turn around this business (Career Consulting Company). I have a MBA and over 10 years of work experience. I have been around when company’s fail and I have been around when Company’s succeed as well. I feel I can help hire a new staff and turn this company back into being successful as it once was. I would be happy to discuss my qualifications in an interview at your convenience. Please call or email me at the numbers above for anything I may help you with. Sincerely, Spencer Myers Spencer Myers Enclosure: My Proposal Proposal Project Introduction & Problem. I have been offered a job at a career consulting company. This company needs somebody to come in a be a professional in my field. My field is specialized, and I plan on bringing great success with me. At the career consulting company, I plan on bringing my career expertise to where I have always gotten the best out of employers and how they love working with me as well. I have also been known to be great when working with clients and other company’s in coming up with deals and projects. In this company I will be put in as the Human Resources Manager/General Manager with my expertise in helping companies hire the right workforce and to make sure they understand all major policies and procedures. I will also help companies establish their own policies and procedures to ensure they have a safe and legal business. This means I will help all types of companies that deal with hiring and firing, recruiting people, placing workers in the right situations, training employers, paying employers, and most important of all in making sure they understand everything about running the Human Resources department. I feel the career consulting company should hire me and my career field of expertise because I have the credentials and I have the work experience to help bring this business out of the low light and back up to a prominent business again. I have a double bachelor’s degree in accounting/Finance and a MBA (Master of Business Administration) as well with a concentration in Human Resources. I also have 10 plus years of working experience in a related business field. Objectives & Solution Now I don’t think one person like myself can singly handle help make a successful company in the HR department. I feel that the first rule when putting together a business is to make sure you hire the correct HR manager employee. Instead of hiring another person who just graduated college and has a bachelor’s degree in business administration and putting them right into a management position, that is just not the right way. It is not fair for the company or the person who just graduated and got put into this prominent position. That is why I feel somebody needs years of experience in a related field and has a proven track record for a job like this. I believe work experience is huge in a job title like this. I have been at a company where we had a problem somewhat like this and it just caused problems because the employee wasn’t experienced enough and made multiple mistakes. That’s why my first offer of advice for HR departments is to hire their manager who has their degree plus multiple years of experience in a related field. In fact, according to Martin Birchall of High Fliers Research he said that having work experience is just as important to having a college degree. “New graduates who’ve not had any work experience at all during their studies are increasingly unlikely to be offered a good graduate job after university,” said Birchall. Reason being is because they do not have the experience to make tough choices. You can do all these scenarios and situations in college all you want, but until you must make a tough choice in the real world that effects people’s life’s then you won’t be prepared until you learn on the job and be mentored. According to California States University that in 1993 “93 percent of interns in workstudy programs were offered jobs by their employers,” according to a Northwestern University study that was part of California State’s review. Therefore, it is very important to try to get some internships throughout your college career. That way you have some experience and are better prepared for when you graduate and get hired at a real job with a full-time position that affects people. I would say besides your degree internships are huge too just so that you get your feet wet and can learn to understand how that field works. The more experience that you have then the greater your salary is as well. https://orlandodevs.com/blog/orlando-devs-salaries-in-2016/ The graphic above shows a certain salary based on the years of experience. The more experience you have then the higher you get paid according to this graph from https://orlandodevs.com/blog/orlando-devs-salaries-in-2016/. This is because you have been at the company and know how it works and they reward you for your time. Here this graph above is from www.preclarus.org/the-preclarus-advantage.html this shows the average salary based on what type of degree’s you have. Obviously, the higher degree you have then the higher the salary you would have. Today this important to have both a college degree and work experience because you would work better at your job and live a higher and livable wage. After we find the right HR Manager then we oversee hiring the right positions in all businesses. You always want to hire people based on their qualifications and resume. Never hire people based off a bias. That would show ignorance as a boss and that you didn’t hire the right person for the right job. There is also a good chance if that happened that the people would not work, and the management would not manage. You want to make sure you hire the right people who will fit your culture and work and get everything done the correct way. You always want to go through and examine everybody in the same way to see if they fit your culture scheme. Our goal is to help people find jobs that best suit them. If we cannot do that then we are not doing our job right. If you can hire people that want to work here and want to be here, then it will make everybody happier. Your company’s goal should be to have a happy workplace that gets along together, has teamwork, and gets their work done. As I said before your goal should be to put together a team that likes to work with each other and for each other. Your main priority is the customers of your business as without customers you would not even have your job as the business you work for wouldn’t exist. To ensure this you must hire the right people and put them in the right positions to succeed. You are going to hire people based on their qualifications and experience. Just make sure to look at their track record and make sure they fit what your company is looking for. If you can accomplish this, then you can accomplish your goals. The first part of hiring all the positions is to hire a top assistant manager. He/She will be ranked right below you and will help with hiring and running this business right. They play a vital part in taking some stress off you. Together you are going hire people in certain fields and make sure they can be successful in it. At most business you have many specialized fields. From customer service to financial advisors to accountants and research analyst you want to hire them all. Your customer service will oversee interacting with customers and clients on behalf of the company/organization. They will provide information about what we do and how we do it. There goal is to be customer friendly and to hopefully convince customers that you are right for them. Your financial advisor will oversee helping clients and employees with their money. They will make sure clients plan for short term and long-term goals so that they are prepared for expenses and future retirement savings. There goal is to make sure your clients will be educated enough so they can remain financially stable for the rest of their life. Your business should have a primary accountant. Your accountant will oversee our financial records. They will perform financial overviews for our business and make sure we are in good keepings money wise. You should also have one or two research analysts. They will always be looking around monitoring certain trends that have to deal with your business. They will look at theories and try to see if there is anything that will affect your industry in any way. They will also look at how you can bolster your business into making it better as well. These are really the main areas in most businesses that you want hire right away. You may not need every position I listed, or they might not have that exact role but to be successful you want most of those parts. They play an essential part in every business and are usually necessary in most places. Now that I laid out a clear and concise understanding of what is to be expected, our employers must follow their directions ordered or will not have a job. After you and your company has hired the employees that you think best fit your company’s needs you and other management of the business will want to come up with certain procedures, salary, work hours, and certain company policy. These are all important features that helps identify what a company/business is all about. You want to make sure that you understand all the new policies of your work. If you were to say something wrong or did something wrong, then there is a chance you could get written up or even fired. Dealings and Cost Since you are running the Human Resources Department you oversee all the lower level jobs hiring and firing, finding their salary, and examining how they work. When determine their salary you will also obviously talk to even higher up management then you, but there are some factors that help determine their pay. If your employee, you have had a certain college degree compared to somebody that doesn’t then they will be paid more. If you hired somebody that has more experience, then somebody else in that same field then they will be paid more. If you were to hire somebody who has both a college degree and related work experience, then they will get paid the most. You will also will also oversee examining how all the employees work. You will make sure that first that each employee is doing their job and doing it correctly. You will check in and make sure there not doing something there not too or goofing off or on the phone etc. You also want to make sure that they understand your company’s policies. I don’t know what type of policies that your company will have but you will be reliable on giving that information to your employers so that they understand them. Conclusion My company we have lots of clients because first off, our staff is filled with great people. They know how to do their job, they love helping people and offering information. We also give out great information when consulted. We do our research and we try to answer every question or every situation as honest and best to our abilities. My advice to both clients and the Consulting Company would to be to listen to each other. If you are the career consulting company listen and examine to what your client has to say. Listen to what they are asking and try to answer or solve the situation to the best of your abilities. If you don’t understand go, get some help and come back. If you’re the client, make sure you stay patient and carefully explain the problem to the consulting company. Listen and hear out what they have to say and carefully choose the best answer to your problem. If your still not sure ask for some clarity and to explain it again. There job is to help you out and want to help you in every way. In the end we hope you are happy and comeback. At the end of the day this is all my consulting advice I must give to both clients and businesses. I am a Human Resources Consultant. I help advice on what to do and how to do it. You are always welcome to ask questions as I am always glad to answer questions. The company I work has been successful because we support our code of ethics and values that put our clients first. We come in and do our job the best way we can and at the end of the day we are successful. I hope you learned some new advice and if you have anything else I can help you with please just ask. My consultation will provide the customer service team and supervisors with better training, improve the feedback our customers get, and increase the company’s sales. I will come in, investigate, interview, and make recommendations, then present these in a report to the supervisors. Present Situation Since the recent growth of FashionScore, the company has had a higher demand for sales. This higher demand has resulted in the quick hiring of 100 new customer service agents. Since the hiring started there has been a rush in the training of these employees, this has resulted in poor customer service ratings and low sales due to this problem. The supervisors have had calls escalated to them detailing how unfriendly the customer service representatives are and the lack of customer satisfaction. Our marketing team has seen customer comments on social media that express the anger and frustration of customers. The changes in the company have been left unattended and sales have been at an all time low. With my help, I will show the team how to effectively increase the number of customers and sales that can be made. I will help the team look for problems and find solutions that will increase client satisfaction. Customer service is ratings are important, and seeing ratings increase is a process, that is why I aspire to help FashionScore. Introduction Customer service is a vital part of any company and having excellent customer service is key for any business planning to increase their clientele. Recently, the company has a had a lower than usual number of sales due to poor customer service. To provide the company with higher sales and to improve customer service, I propose to come in, investigate, interview, and make recommendations to develop a plan to help the customer service team. I plan to enhance our customers experience with this company, thus increasing the number of sales. This plan will include better training for the staff, attention to our customers, and a reward/survey strategy to increase the company’s sales and service. Problem Since the company started to grow, there has been a decline in the number of sales produced. Management has followed the declining trend and it has come to the root cause that our poor customer service is the source of the problem. The customer service supervisors have been getting expedited messages from customers that the customer service agents are not professional. The marketing team has seen social media and online comments about the company, these comments have shown unsatisfied and angry customer reviews. Ever since the company grew,100 new customer service representatives and supervisors have been hired. This change has been problematic due to the increase of sales produced and the public taking interest in our product. To expedite the sales, the company has had to do a quick hiring and training process. This has resulted in our customers taking notice of how our customer service team is not enhancing their shopping experience. Poor customer service ratings have been rising and sales dropping. Management has reported that many of the customers are not being satisfied. There has been remarks that our customer service team is not supportive, friendly, or positive in attitude. This has led to unhappy customers. Objectives To solve our poor customer service ratings, we need to make some changes in our team. These changes will improve the following: • • • • Provide better training by dedicating resources. Improve employee understanding of how they fit within the company. Show our employees that the company cares in the work they do. Demonstrate to our customers that we pay attention to their satisfaction. Solution I propose to solve our poor customer service ratings and low number of sales by implementing a two-day paid seminar for our customer service team and supervisors. I will train the team on how to improve in delivering customers service. While training the team I will make sure to let the employees know and understand that they are a great asset to the company, thus assuring them of how their work fits within the company. When the company first decided to hire this 100 people team the amount of time and dedication spent on training was rushed. I will make sure that with my two-day seminar everyone understands that exceptional customer service is the central focus of the whole team. According to Lee Iwan, a business consultant working with companies all over the world, “when an organization does not spend time to fully train their people the consequence is poor service” (Iwan,2007). Another focal point in my investigation of the company, is that we as a team must provide feedback to the employees. I will have the customer service supervisors work with me to provide feedback, evaluate employee performance, and see what type of people we have working in our team. If the people on our team do not care about the company and their role, they will be terminated. Due to these employees, companies like this one loose a big percentage of customers. “61% of customers go to competitors due to bad customer service” (Alkandari,2007). Customer service matters and there are numbers to show that this is true. Just look at the graphic below: Common complaints from Customers 60% 50% 40% 30% 20% 10% 0% (Heroes,2015). The above graphic was done with data taken from customer surveys. I believe that the company can also do the same to improve our customers satisfaction. We must “create an easily accessible way for customers to give feedback” (SurveyMonkey,2018). Survey Monkey a website that helps companies and people make better decisions writes this about receiving feedback from customers, “Whether it’s a phone survey at the end of a service call, an email survey, or a form on the “Contact Us” page of your website, creating a means for customers to give feedback makes it easier for you to learn what needs improvement. It also helps keep unhappy customers from voicing their displeasure on highly visible places like your social media pages.” (SurveyMonkey,2018). By creating these surveys, we demonstrate to customers that we are paying attention to their feedback. These surveys give customers, a voice to say their opinion and have it heard to have our company improve. To create more customers and increase our sales we must look at what customers value most in a company. “According to a recent survey” here are the results, What do Customers Value the Most 1. Friendly employees or customer service representatives. 2. The ability to easily find information or help they need. 3. Pesonalized experiences. 4. Brands with a good reputation. (Heroes,2015) One of the company’s problem is low sales, I believe that the company would be able to increase sales by providing feedback to those customers who left angry and unsatisfying comments online and in social media. If we start providing feedback to these customers, then they will feel as if they are getting a personalized experience. Weekly meetings with the sales team and supervisors will also be implemented to review sales, customer satisfaction, look for improvements and find solutions. Methods Training Training will take place immediately, an informational memo will be send to all employees letting them know of the dates, times and the topics that will be covered that day in the training. I will work with the supervisors to conduct and discuss the aspects of the training session. After that, the supervisors will be responsible for training all other new hires after my consultation. Feedback After the training sessions I will follow up with the supervisors to hear their feedback. This will occur after one month. At the training I will direct the marketing and sales team to review the online comments and provide feedback together with support to the customers. Monitoring the company’s online platform will ensure that our customers satisfaction is met. Staff meetings Meetings with the staff once every week after the training sessions will be conducted. These meetings will take care of any questions or concerns the staff might have that week. Meetings will also provide a way for staff to come together and discuss important issues. Costs As a business consultant, I charge $125 an hour for my consultations. The company initially pays customer service agents $10 an hour and supervisors $15 an hour. Therefore, the costs to pay for the two-day four-hour training sessions for the 100 new customer service agents and 5 supervisors is detailed below: Training cost (2 four-hour sessions) Supervisor cost (2 four-hour sessions) Agent cost (2 four-hour sessions) Total $1,000 $600 $8,000 $9,600 Resources Needed To initiate the training sessions, I will need the cooperation of several people I have already been in contact with the department heads of the customer service department. They have agreed to free up the time of the new hires and supervisors so that the two-day training sessions can be completed. The marketing team has been in contact with me and have agreed to start monitoring social media after the training sessions have ended. I will also need, for the supervisors to be cooperative and honest in the feedback they give to me after the training sessions and their time to conduct weekly staff meetings. Schedule I can do the training sessions in two four-hour days, beginning April 23, 2018. I will be follow up with the supervisors to hear feedback one month after the training. TASK TRAINING HOURS 8 FEEDBACK 1-2 (Depending on the supervisor’s review) Qualifications As you know, I am a business consultant with one of the cities top consulting companies. I am familiar with the situation the company is having. I have recently, worked with a company that has seen tremendous growth in their sales due to excellent customer service. Additionally, I have partnered with many businesses new and old in our city to help them grow and prosper. Conclusion I am happy to be working with this company to help it grow and improve its customer service. I hope that you can let me work with the organization in the future. References Ankandari, A.
