Research and Analysis of "Leave it to Beaver."
Leave it to Beaver is a 30 minutes per episode children's television series that first aired
on CBS in 1957 and continued until 1958 when ABC television took over and continued until
1963 when the series reached its end. The show was in black and white as were most other
television shows of the time. Throughout the six years that it ran, it was aired on two television
channels, composed by two people, produced by two companies and distributed by two
companies (McDonald et al., 1997). Six series of the show were produced during the period that
it aired. The show unlike family television shows of the time was not told from a parent's
perspective but a child's perspective...
