What should black children learn?
Introduction
All know all about poor neighborhoods, mean politicians, economic deprivation, and
racism that the black community face. Still, one of the heaviest burdens black Americans
and black children, in particular, is suffered is bad education that offers to them. Black
children do not need special care until They learn and succeed and become effective
members of their community. They are certainly like the rest of the other children. They
only need to provide the tools necessary for success, such as a cohesive community, and
family that give the safety and love. They also need good schools and education that
gives them enough knowledge about their history, and culture. It is unacceptable that a
black child spends a lot of years in schools without getting any knowledge of black
history and culture that belong to. The black child must answer the question of who you
are? with pride and confidence after graduating from elementary school. In addition,
curriculums that the black children get, it gives them distorted images of their history
because they are written by hands of a different culture. My papers will focus on the most
important things that black children should know and learn, and why they have to learn
these things.
Black History
The history is very important for any nation, a nation without a history it has no
value, so one of the most important things black children must learn is their history.
Children must know about their history because that will give them energy, sense of
belonging, the sense of trust, and desire to achieve great things to be part of that history.

Black children should also know that their civilization is a long civilization spanning
more than 7000 years. black history has a great role in the service of humanity. The black
ancients have laid the foundation stone for many human, cultural, religious, economic,
and political sciences. No nation in the history of has a greater influence on the arts and
sciences than Kemet (Browder, 1992). Kemet is the black civilization that emerged in
ancient Egypt 3000 B.C., and it considers one of greater civilizations in the history.
Unfortunately, most of the ancient black Civilizations efforts have been plagued by theft
and attributed to other civilizations. Black children must know the true story of their
history. It is not enough to tell our children we have a great history and we were kings
and greats. They must study black history and live its stories in detail.
History of Blacks in America
Another thing that black children should know is black history milestones and
events that shaped African-American history, including the Civil War, abolition of
slavery and civil rights movement. Moreover, they should know the whole story about
how their ancestors came out of Africa and why. And how they arrived in America. What
is the full and true story? Although the story of bringing blacks to America is tragic,
black children must know about it. The suffering of their ancestors was unbelievably
harsh. They have lived years of unjustified slavery and oppression. All must remember
the stories of that era to commemorate the heroes who fought a lot of battles for their
freedom and their rights. In addition, the relationship between blacks and America is
strong, blacks have made a lot of sacrifices for America. They are an important part of
American history. They have contributed to the cultivation, building of the land, and

defended it in all battles, so they have the right to America just like all races living in
America.
Intellectual freedom
Early start, grow smart. It is very important that children learn the meaning of
freedom in all its forms, and intellectual freedom in particular. Learning children
intellectual freedom makes them grow up with ideas and opinions that support their
issues and needs. All should know that slavery was physical in the past, but it has become
intellectual now. Through slavery, masters control the minds of their slaves. Blacks
should know that just as their ancestors have broken the chains of physical slavery, they
must break the chains of intellectual slavery by properly understanding their values and
ideas away from "illusion of inclusion" (Farrakan,1990). Furthermore, children should
also learn intellectual freedom in a way that suits their age.
The importance of the pursuit of knowledge
It is very satisfying for the black community to see their children in pursuit of
knowledge. It is natural and healthy for the black nation because that the future of black
history in the hands of our children, and black children should know that. Our mission
here is to encourage black children the pursuit of knowledge and create an appropriate
environment for them to succeed in getting the knowledge which the black community
needed to solve the economic and political problems that stand in the face of the
development of black society. The black children should know that the pursuit of
knowledge is important to help them in political and economic empowerment, their
enemies know that well, so they try to prevent them from doing so. The struggle of blacks

to acquire knowledge is an old conflict. In the past blacks were prevented from learning
through the closing of schools that supported black education, jailing teachers who taught
black people, state laws prohibiting black education. Today blacks still face obstacles in
their way to knowledge, such as lack of funding for black schools and neglect black
student's needs. In addition, black children should know the main objective in the pursuit
of knowledge is the path towards intellectual, economic and political freedom, and is the
path towards to support for the ideas and values of the black society.
From where black children should learn
Black children should learn from all possible means, such as a school, family,
community, social media, and books. Schools with a majority of black students have an
important role in educating black children. Black students devote twelve years of life to
pursue the school's knowledge, so it is not natural they graduated without a clear
understanding of black values and history. Here comes the role of black teachers. They
must provide black students with the knowledge they need far from the school curriculum
because it is a hopeless way to provide values and ideas that black students need because
the school curriculum is written by writers who have no idea about black values, views.
Black teachers must find different ways of delivering black values to black children.
Moreover, the existence of schools does not mean that parents do not have to teach their
children. It does not mean that parents give up actively participating in their children's
education. Parents must tell their children about their culture, tradition, history, and
values. The black community also should be involved in educating children. Ancient
Africans relied on it in building the great African nation. Another thing black children
should learn from is the social media, but we must be careful about that because most of

the media is dominated by non-Blake. But new media, such as Facebook, Twitter, and
YouTube, can be well exploited to benefit black children. Finally, black children can
learn through books especially those written by black thinkers who have a good
background about the history and values of the black society.
