Decision making in the counselling field
Counseling professions are virtually by far one of the most challenging fields in medical
institutions of every healthy functioning society. It requires a lot of sensitivity, calmness, and
cautiousness when dealing with people’s problems especially those who are experiencing mental,
physical and behavioral challenges. We have experienced and observed a tremendous rise in the
needs of evidence-based treatment due to the drive brought about by the strive befalling the
world’s ever increasing populations that brings along with it more complex social problems that
need to be solved swiftly using social sciences (Gray, 2014). The ever-changing day to day wave
of modernization has also seen these problems vary from one individual to another, increasing
the need for cost-effective and more accountable evidence-based practice that can be deemed
effective when used on patients about their specific problems.
Decision-making process as always is an essential part when it comes to choosing the
best satisfying alternative resolution to a problem. However, the best decisions are the ones that
follow a step by step sequence in following specific procedures rather than being undertaken
