landscape is not different. The Ebola issue is one of those cases that have brought heated
controversy in the debate over whether pharmaceutical firms are really concerned about the wellbeing of humans as they develop and sell their products. The scourge had been ignored for
decades before the drug juggernauts decided in 2014 that they would be providing vaccines to
the disease soonest possible. The timing was obviously suspect since it was immediately after the
disease had crossed the inter-continental boarders and entered the Western terrain. Undeniably,
pharmaceutical firms are just like any other profit-maximizing organization, and thus their
priorities are inclined toward those choices that help them further their overall agenda of
enhancing productivity and keeping their revenues at optimal levels. Without a doubt, while the
reluctance by the pharmaceutical firms regarding the development of Ebola vaccines could be
justified on the basis on shareholder profitability, it is ethically wrong and tends to value money
