Advantages of Having a Male Supervisor
From various studies, it is evident that many of the female bosses in high positions have
interpersonal tensions coupled with other adverse problems. A male supervisor is always
perceived as straight talking and does not beat around the bush over any issue (Powell &
Butterfield, 2015). This makes employees able to interact, communicate and even work easier
with the male boss than a female one. Secondly, the male supervisors rarely bring in personal
issues such as family problems to the place of work. This attitude makes the working
environment conducive to all employees. In addition, the male supervisors have no feeling of
threat or insecurity that the junior employees are performing better and shining in the business.
This means that each employee is recognized for good work done, their confidence increased and
they feel more motivated.
Regarding character, most male bosses display power and command respect from the employees
through their language gestures and attitude. This evident in firmness demonstrated from their
decision making, and it helps the company grow. Male supervisors do not have mood swings,
unlike their female counterparts. They are less involved in office politics, and thus they act
impartially, taking issues from a rational perspective to provide solutions to the employees.
Unlike the female supervisors, the male supervisors are more logical, and this approach enhances
productivity among the employees (Powell & Butterfield, 2015).
