Studies conducted by numerous researchers have shown that ethics is a crucial element in
any business. With some reports indicating that companies cannot grow and achieve its goals
without moral conduct, the evidence given against those assertions are a clear indication of the
need for business ethics (Goodpaster, 2015). A case study of a German vehicle manufacturing
and assembling company known as Volkswagen is living evidence of what business ethics
means as well as the consequences which can face an organization if it fails to adhere to moral
conduct (Vonberg and Schmidt, 2018). On the contrary, firms which have been successful in
ensuring that they have operated and conducted all their activities ethically have identified to
have an added advantage in their respective fields. The truth-seekers have determined that there
is the need for businesses to know and understand what is right and what is wrong when dealing
with different stakeholders. The role of the author in this paper is to elucidate on the issue of
ethics in business practices. Cases of companies which have succeeded or failed in ethical
conduct will be expounded to assess the impact which ethical practices can have on business
results. Inferences will be made at the last segment of the paper based on the results of the
