Variables Measurement and SPSS Software Summary
Variables, Measurement, and SPSS
Quantitative research consists of testing and understanding relationships between variables. Researchers construct these variables as measurable expressions of social phenomena. Modern statistics provides you with a host of resources to answer questions, but each statistical test has a set of assumptions regarding the measurement of the variables. It is therefore important to understand how variables are measured because their measurement will influence the type of analytic tools available to you.
SPSS is a statistical software program that allows you to enter these variables into a spreadsheet format and record the measurements from a sample. Additionally, SPSS allows you to perform statistical analysis. Before launching into your analyses, though, it is important to understand how the variables are measured. That understanding will help you interpret the SPSS output.
In this week’s Discussion, you considered topics with social change implications. For this Assignment, you will examine data to analyze independent and dependent variables, determine how they are measured, and decipher whether a social change question can be answered and the implications for such change.
Write a 2-page summary and include the following:
A description of what the each of the variables measure.
A description of the unit of analysis.
A description and explanation of the levels of measurement for each variable (i.e., nominal, ordinal, interval, ratio).
Explain how you might conceive these variables to be used to answer a social change question. What might be the implications for social change?

COM 263 Grand Canyon University Liberian Intercultural Interview Reflection Paper
For this assignment, you will need to interview an individual who identifies with a non-Western and/or non-Judeo-Christian culture. This interview can be in person, over the phone, or by email. This may be someone you know personally or that you locate through a local cultural center, club, religious organization or even an embassy or consulate. You need to obtain permission from this individual to list their contact information in your paper in the event that your instructor needs to verify your work. During your interview you should ask the following questions: What do you identify as the most important or distinct practices of your culture? How are gender roles addressed in your culture? How is social power, authority, or social roles in a hierarchy expressed in your culture? In class, we learned that in “honor-oriented societies,” worth comes from one’s role or group membership and in “justice-oriented societies,” worth comes from what one does or doesn’t do. What is the role of honor/shame in your culture? Are honor/pride and dishonor/shame important concepts in your culture? After your interview, write a 500-750-word paper summarizing and reflecting on the responses you received. What did you learn from this exchange? How did your perceptions change? Based on your discussion, how do you think your culture is perceived by others? You should incorporate at least three concepts from Chapters 12, 13, or 14 of your textbook in your response.Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide.

Coca Cola activity based costing
Select a manufacturer in your area and explain how it could implement an activity-based costing (ABC) system. When you are deciding on a company to use, consider the costs and benefits in implementing an ABC system. In your post, provide some background information about your company. Explain what it produces and identify the activities that would drive costs. Discuss the cost pools that it would use. Recommend the process it would need to go through to implement ABC in the company. When responding to two of your peers, identify strengths and/or weaknesses in their implementation plan. Is ABC appropriate for the company they have selected? Have they considered all activities that may drive costs? Are the cost pools listed appropriate? What if any assumptions have been overlooked?Refer to the Discussion Rubric ATTACHED for directions on completing these discussions.
