Ideally, these stages are paramount when it comes to working as a team. For example, I have seen these stages take effect in the group discussions that we have had previously before.. During our first class discussion, there was a group of five students. At this particular period, no one knew the other and we were all anxious and polite as we waited eagerly for the task which we were to accomplish. This was the first stage of forming. The second stage of storming happened after few weeks. During this stage, all group members had known each other and started to question the credibility of the group leader (Kerr, 2016). Besides, conflicts started to erupt from members. This did not last long before the norming stage where members started to resolve their differences. In this stage, we as members had known each other well and started to appreciate each other’s strengths and weaknesses in various courses. This was brought by constant socializing that helped a lot at this stage. For example, after discussion, we used to have a period for sharing a lot about our lives, a step that was crucial in understanding each other better. Lastly, followed a good performance from the group. The awareness of these stages can help me in future collaborative projects because I will be able to understand how to address challenges and also know the best way to handle members at every stage. For example, I will be able to ensure that members socialize a lot so that they can understand each other strengths and weaknesses for a better outcome. This is because by understanding others, it becomes easy to collaborate. WORKING IN TEAMS 3 Reference Kerr, S. (2016).
