According to the ideology test analysis, I would qualify as an opportunity democrat. The
classification primarily stems from my position as a Democratic Party voter, and position on the
role of the government in addressing social issues in the society. Essentially, I believe that most
people in the United States have an opportunity to succeed if they worked hard enough, and the
government has some improvements to make in addressing some of the issues that have often put
minority groups at a disadvantage. Consequently, the adverse experiences of most of the
members of the minority groups in the United States are results of limited attention to the needs
of the group, which ultimately limit their access to the critical resources and infrastructure.
Achieving social equity past the current levels could significantly influence the level of success
among different members of the American society.
