An advertising strategy refers to the means through which consumers are reached out to
and persuaded to make a purchase. An effective advertising strategy follows sound product and
market assessment, analysis of the media to use and the budgetary considerations. An effective
advertising campaign is one that takes into account the product itself and the merits it has, the
various characteristics of consumers, the analysis of alternative ways of conveying the same
message to the consumer and optimal use of the available resources. The effectiveness of an
advertising strategy holding other factors constant based on how well it will impact the
consumer. The advertising has to do with the content of the advertisement itself and how the
advertising content efficiently conveyed to the target audience. For this paper, the focus will be
on commercials as an advertisement technique. Commercial ads designed in various ways. The
most effective ones are repetition & association ads (which focus appeal to the emotions of a
consumer) as well as bandwagon and claims (which appeal rationally to the consumer). It is the
combination of these four techniques that creates the most effective advertisement strategy. The
use of commercials is undeniably one of the best strategies to advertise a product because it
brings with it a set of sound and imagery which help make the advertisement interesting and
catchy.
In simple terms, commercial advertising refers to advertising films aired on TV or radio
to inform potential consumers of an existing product or service, persuading them to make
purchases, reminding customers that the products or services are still the best or merely building
the brand name. Commercials are frequent, particularly on TV. It is not uncommon to have a TV
interrupted by a commercial break. While there are other ways of advertisement including
internet, print, and billboards, commercial advertising is gaining popularity because more people

are responding to them. Commercial ads have become the ordinary way of advertisement, and
although they are expensive, they remain the best strategies for publication. Depending on the
nature of the announcement, it can have different effects on a potential consumer. The social
media channels like Facebook and Google ads also provide a unique avenue for commercial
advertisements with a global reach. Globalization thus provided a more cost-effective
opportunity for companies to advertise and sell taking advantage of opportunities presented by ecommerce and online advertising.
The challenge most infomercials face is that the messaging and the channel at times are at
variance. Some advertising messages do not trigger the desired outcome. In such cases, the
campaigns conception, budgets, and efforts go to waste. Successful commercial ads are known to
generate sales and revenue sustainability. As it was aforementioned, ads can use techniques such
as repetition, claims, association or bandwagon. Each one of these techniques influences t he
behavior of a potential consumer differently.
Repetition ads are used to make a brand or a product stick in the minds of consumers and
potential future customers so that whenever they want to use such products, they can only think
of that from the advertising company or brand. It builds brand familiarity in the sense that a
