Metro High school has contacted us regarding concerns they have received from parents regarding their children’s access to the school network with personal devices. Many of them are concerned that their child may bring home a virus from the school’s network and want to know what the school is doing to prevent attacks and also what they can do at home to make sure that their child’s computer is not vulnerable.
Using Word, create and appropriately format an easy to read FAQ page. Your page must include the following:
- At least 15 questions and answers of your choice that address the following:
- Risks to the network
- Risks to computers connected to network
- Ways to protect the network
- Ways to protect individual computers
- At least three specific software programs (i.e., Symantec® Antivirus Corporate Protection) that can be used to protect either the network or personal computers
- Make sure you explain what the program does and how it protects

Q. What is a network?
This is a connection of computers with the main purpose of sharing and accessing
resources such as the internet. A printing device, a scanning device or even a server can some of
the resources that are shared on the network. An example of network is a local area network
mostly used in business and schools.
Q. How is a network secured?
The main ways in which a network is secured from attack or interference is; the
encryption of data, this only allows users who are authorized to access the network or
information that is on the network. The provision of access that is secure to guests and visitors.
Authenticating the users, this is a process where computers that access or are trying to access the
network are identified; therefore access can be denied to unauthorized devices. There also
systems that ensure the devices and computers accessing the network are protected.
