Will the increase in online shopping forums end up having a decrease for the need of a traditional sales person? Going into Pharmaceutical Sales, I notice a lot of advancements on the buyer-seller relationship and how these advancements (such as online information, drug samples, and technological aids) have enhanced the selling process for both the consumer and seller. I wonder, with Amazon on the horizon of creating an 'online Pharmacy' and recently "forming a new venture in conjunction with JPMorgan and Berkshire Hathaway" (Saganowsky, 2018), what does this mean for Big Pharma? How do you think this will effect the field of pharmaceutical sales? In my opinion, which is aligned with the article's attached, I do not think that Amazon will be able to handle the demands the world of pharmaceuticals possesses. I think that pharmaceuticals is much more delicate and requires a vast array of knowledge that Amazon won't be able to acquire anytime soon, at least. For those with knowledge in pharma and Amazon, what are your thoughts? https://www.fiercepharma.com/pharma/amazon-finally-moved-into-healthcare-but-its-pharma-ambit ions-are-still-far-from-clear Considering all mediums, if you were a startup company starting local, what mediums would choose and why? Most startups have limited capital to begin their venture. If you were starting locally, hoping to expand regionally, or even globally, what would you use in your marketing campaign? Social Media gives you an immediate global reach, but is your business able to support that as such? Things like print/radio/tv can be easily targeted geographically. It would be my assumption that you'd want to start with something easily controlled and contained to the area which you hope to start the business - but are there better methods to use your SM platforms to accomplish a similar desired outcome, or would the potential reach be too wide of a scope to be able to effectively target your initial markets, causing you to have to filter through lots of irrelevant contact that would prevent you from focusing your time on important tasks related to the beginnings of your business? The number of options in the social media and marketing space is vast, and therefore a strong strategy should be in place before one post is made, in my opinion.
