A wetland can be defined as an area that is saturated with water, either permanent or
seasonally. The wetland is in an area that takes the form of a distinct ecosystem. The
characteristic of the wetland that includes the aquatic life is what gives a wetland a unique
distinction from other areas. There are several wetlands in the whole of the USA. California is
one of the states; it has the climatic conditions that support the occurrence of a wetland.
California has several wetlands which the two governments, the federal government and the state
government have played a vital role in the conservation of these physical features. An excellent
example of a wetland that is located in California State is the Tijuana River inlet.
The wetland is located in the county of San Diego in California acting as the border to
Mexico, bordering Tijuana Baja, California. This type of wetland is classified under the shallow
water habitat which can as well be referred to as intermittent because the volume of water is
