Please avoid plagiarism
I’ll attach the paper I wrote about (green chemistry)all I need you to do is make a presentation about it.
Follow the steps below:
Your presentation will be about the same topic you chose for your paper. However forFor your presentation, you will describe in detail one of the research articles that you chose for your paper.
CHOOSING YOUR SOURCES
You will be describing one of these sources in detail for your presentation.
Again you must find articles within the reputable news that details a scientific experiment(s) in a field of natural science. Your articles may be about biology, chemistry, physics, geology, etc. The articles must be at least 200 words long and must have been published in the last three years. Sources for this assignment may include primary peer-reviewed scholarly journals, reputable online newspapers, or reputable online magazines. Below is a list of potential sources (however, you are not restricted to using these websites):
- ScienceDaily: http://www.sciencedaily.com/
- NPR Science News: http://www.npr.org/sections/science/
- The New York Times Science Section: http://www.nytimes.com/pages/science/index.html
- National Geographic Daily News: http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/?source=hp_news_header
- Scientific American News: http://www.scientificamerican.com/section.cfm?id=news
- The Scientist: http://www.the-scientist.com/
- Discovery News: http://news.discovery.com/
- Live Science: http://www.livescience.com/
- Science News: http://news.sciencemag.org/
- Nature News: http://www.nature.com/news/
Unacceptable sources for this assignment include personal websites, blogs, and wikis.
Avoid articles that do not describe a scientific study. For example, articles that describe a scientific career, describe the mission of a scientific organization, articles about new technology, breaking news about an event (such as a natural disaster or awarding of scientific prizes) related to science or technology, or articles that detail a list of scientific discoveries do not meet the requirements for the assignment.
Oral Communication Assignment
The oral assignment consists of an in-depth analysis of one of the sources for your paper. The format for this presentation will be very similar to your journal. You should not copy and paste your whole paper or text from your original source.
Begin your presentation by providing background as to why the study was completed. Then go into detail about the hypothesis, experiment, results, and conclusions of your study. Finish your presentation by discussing future areas of experimental work. You may refer briefly to your other studies, if you like.
Presentations will be 4-5 minutes in length. You will be required to present professionally constructed PowerPoint slides during class. I recommend 5-10 slides for this presentation. Images and graphs (no videos)should be incorporated to supplement and help explain the content. As such, you will be required to include at least one visual aid. Please begin your presentation with a title slide that also states your name.
During the presentation, you will use speaking skills to communicate your message: proper verbal and nonverbal techniques, and all elements of introductions, main points and conclusions with your audience (the class and instructor) in mind. Practice your presentation to achieve an appropriate speaking rate, pitch, volume, and conversational tone. Identify words that you may not know how to pronounce in advance of your presentation date. Do not simply read text off of your slides or notes; rather, focus on integrating your slides into your spoken presentation. While practicing, you should also keep in mind that you will need maintain eye contact with your audience, and model proper facial expressions, body language, and gestures. Similar to the written paper, you must properly apply and integrate credible support for your ideas by citing your work during your talk and creating an APA-style reference slide page.
You may make your slides using your iPad and mirror onto airplay in the classroom. However, if there are technical difficulties we will be switching to the classroom computer. Thus, it is required that you submit your slides as a PowerPoint file because our classroom computer only has PowerPoint. Be aware, if you make your presentation in Keynote, you may lose links, animations, and formatting when converting to PowerPoint format.Submit your presentation document titled as per the following example: presentation_law.pptx.
In addition to the criteria above, you will be graded on the quality of your slides. Your slides should follow the 6 x 6 rule: limit your text to six words per line, six lines per slide. What’s more, your slides should be professional in design. Avoid distracting or unreadable fonts or color combinations. Also, refrain from using excessive slide animations, which can be annoying and appear unprofessional. Your slides should also be written with proper grammar, punctuation, and style.
The presentation will be graded with the Dialogues of Learning Oral Communication Rubric. Be aware that all submissions to Canvas will be run through Turnitin to check for originality. Do not simply copy and paste text from your original article! Slides will be submitted to the instructor via Canvas by 11:59 pm the night before your presentation. Presentation dates will be at random. You are also required to submit a speaking outline with your presentation slides. If the date of presentation is missed, there is no guarantee your date will be rescheduled. This assignment is worth 15% of your grade. You are also asked to record your in-class presentation. These videos will be submitted to Canvas after your presentation is completed. I will upload a link about uploading videos in a seperate link.
