It is particular that the history of poems, short stories and autobiographical pieces cannot be
understood without reference to the coexistence in the first half of the twentieth century. It was
characterized by modernism as well as traditional approaches to literature gotten from the Victorian
period. During the first half of the twentieth century, the modernist writers reacted against realism in
fiction. Furthermore, they utilized the remains of Romantic sentimentalism in poetry through the
introduction of technical innovations that could be utilized to observe realities from the point of view of
the irrational, the subconscious, the anti-sentimental as well as the highly individualistic. Besides,
writers were greatly influenced by the new post-war order. They had to explain the new historical reality
and the position of individuals. The writers had to make a choice between traditional literary models
which was appropriate for the transmission of accurate portrait of the individual in a changing society
