Argumentative Essay

The United States has always been regarded as a land of immigration. Since the
formation of the country, the aspect of immigration has emerged to be a debated issue with some
people opposing the concept of immigration while the others completely support the immigration
notion. The reforming of the immigration laws in the United States depict the demands of time
and the political perceptions of people. Approximately 13 percent of the population of the United
States consists of foreign individuals (Bohanon and Curott, 2018). Between the mid of the 19th
century and early decades of the 20th century, the number of foreigners in the United States
increased significantly.
The immigrants and the undocumented immigrants are of great benefits to the Americans
and the United States as a whole. Recently, the country of America has received a large number
of immigrants to the country with approximately 11.6 million undocumented immigrants. From
the year 2000 to the year 2009, the population of the undocumented immigrants in the United
States increased by 27 percent. The Mexico immigrants into the United States account for 58%
undocumented immigrants in the United States (Bohanon and Curott, 2018). It is imperative to
ascertain that the immigrants and the undocumented immigrant are of great benefit to the United
States and the Americans. Immigration into the United States results to the improvement in the
economy and also contributes to the practice of diversification and valuation and integration of
other cultures. Immigration of both legal and undocumented immigrants to the United States is
of great benefit to the Americans and the United States.
One of the postulation that can be embraced to argue for the benefits of the immigrants in
the United States is that immigration whether legal or illegal yields economic advantages to the
United States. The remitting of tax and labor participation are among the aspects that can be

used to explore on the economic benefits .Both the illegal and legal Immigrants remit taxes and
participates in the labor practices .Immigration has been one of the driving force behind the
economic growth of the United States. During the 19th century, the immigrants played a
significant role in offering labor for industrialization in the United States (Heinrich, 2018).
Despite the high rates of immigration flows, it is imperative to ascertain that if immigration is
managed effectively, it can result to great benefits to the economy of the United States.
Additionally, investment is an area of concern that can be used to expound on the
economic roles and important of both the legal and undocumented immigrants into the United
States. The presence of more workers in the United States provides an opportunity for the firm to
invest. From the year 1960 to the year 2010, research has evidenced that the productive capacity
of America has grown sporadically (Heinrich, 2018). Despite the challenges of licensing and
financing, most of the undocumented immigrants in the United States resolve to creating and
incepting of their own business activities a fact that results in the creation of employment
opportunities. For instance, in the year 2014, it was found out that ten percent of the
undocumented immigrants in the United States were entrepreneur who had started their
individual business activities.
Furthermore, in most of the states in America, most of the small startups are owned by
the undocumented immigrants. The legal permanent residents of the country do not resolve in the
creation of business opportunities since most of them enroll for further learning and therefore
they aspire to look for job opportunities in the big corporations (Heinrich, 2018). In the year
2014, the business income that was generated by the entrepreneurs amounted to $ 17.2 billion.
Moreover, both the legal and undocumented immigrants have positively impacted on the
development of science and technology in the United States. The aspect of scientific

development is important in the economic growth of the country. It is often presumed that the
investment of the government in technology, and scientific research has fostered the economic
development of the United States. However, it is imperative to ascertain that the scientists who
migrate from the foreign countries with higher education standards foster the aspect of scientific
development and technology in the United States. Albert Einstein is among the remarkable
scientist who migrated from Germany to America and contributed to scientific development of
the country (Kaufmann, 2011). The foreign learners in the United States have become focus in
the American education especially in the sciences and engineering courses. Most of the
immigrants who have become permanent residents in the United States have continued to make
great contributions to the development of science and technology in the United States. Several
research studies have demonstrated that the foreign scientists and engineers play a significant
role in the American science industries and laboratories (Ming-Chin et al, 2018). In the last
decades of the 20th century, the immigrants business individuals formed a large number of the
inceptors of the US high technology (Ming-Chin et al, 2018).
The mobility of the immigrants is another fact that can...
