Too Powerful Presidency
The United States of America presidency has become too powerful in such a way that the
framers of the constitution tried to control. The framers of the constitution and American people
wanted the power of the president limited and controlled by American Congress. The control and
limit of the presidential power led to the abolishment of the king's title that was previously
occupied by a tyrannical King George III who had so much power. This paper looks at the
reasons why the presidency of the United States of America has grown to be too powerful over
the years.
The presidency power has been growing since the time of President George Washington.
The presidency of the United States of America has grown too powerful and has dominated
many fields that the framers believed would be under the control of Congress such defense,
foreign affairs and financial systems (Fisher,2017). Many presidents have been demanding more
power than stipulated in the constitution. The powers of the presidency have grown to be too
powerful due to the liberal constitutional interpretation.
One of the factors that are attributed to the presidency growing to be too is the use of Executive
Orders by the president. The use of executive orders has increased significantly over time. The
period prior to the mid-9th century the presidents of the United States of America used an
