Introduction
This case study aims to establish the strength of Dells and how it can put some efforts in
improving and managing its supply chain and logistics process over the time as compared to

other major competing firms. Supply chain refers to the means of a flow of goods or distribution
of goods from the manufacturer to the last customer. Firms are determined to ensure that it has
established a proper supply chain and logistics process to be at the position to compete favorably
against their competitors. Among the many technology companies, Dell is at the position to
prove its capabilities following the use of direct sales model, high manufacturing efficiency and
inventory control. Thus, this study will serve as a stepping stone for the company to ensure that it
can make use of their strengths and capabilities to overcome their threats and weakness and
hence tapping the available opportunities. This will give the company a big chance to prevent all
possibilities of failing in the future in this huge uncertain technology market.

On watching the video, I have realized that Dell is in a just in time manufacturing model
this in comparison to its competitor’s, the likes of Apple, IBM, Compaq and Hewlett Packard. Its
success is amazing to many of the technology companies as they keep on questioning the
wisdom associated with this fast growing and leading computer manufactures. Despite the
uncertainties that have rendered most of the technology firm lag behind Dell is still leading in the
