One of the minority groups in the United States is the Hispanic group. According to
Centre For Disease Control (2014), they account for 17% of the minority group in the United
States and the main causes of mortality is diabetes, heart diseases, chronic liver diseases, stroke,
pneumonia, and cancer. Of these conditions, diabetes is the leading cause of high death rate.
Tienda and Mitchell (2006), notes that diabetes 2 has a high prevalence rate among the
Hispanics. Of the Hispanics, there are white Hispanics and Non-white Hispanics. For cancer, the
white Hispanics have lower cancer chances than the non-white Hispanics. Additionally, cervical
and stomach cancers are more common in white Hispanics than in non-white Hispanics.
