CHAPTER 3
In this chapter, it is all about the health information governance and how important it is to
a certain organization. First, it gives the details and explanation of information governance and
its corporate which are legal and ethical foundations. When governance is associated with the
public then it simply means that is the ability of a government to make and enforce rules whereas
if it is associated with private then it simply means that it entails those in authority laying out
desired ends or policies for the organization to follow. There is also association health care
information governance and effective governance whereby from (Weill and Ross, 2004, 4),
effective governance is the single most important predictor of the value a certain organization
normally generates from its information and IT asset. Information governance is unified by IT
governance and data governance where the IT governance is the process which ensures effective
and efficient use of IT in helping an organization achieve its goals whereas the data governance
