Crime refers to the unlawful acts for which the offender can be punished by the
authorities. In this case the acts committed by Rosie are good examples of crimes.
Individuals that are between the age of ten and eighteen years are usually referred
to as juvenile delinquents. A delinquent act is thus defined as an act that violates the
laws and regulations being committed by a minor. This acts are laws and if they are
committed by an adult then he or she is punishable for the act.
Status offence refers to the actions that are only considered as a crime if committed
by a minor, this acts are usually noncriminal if committed by an adult. An example of
status offences is drinking alcohol.
Nature of Rosie’s offenses
Rosie committed various crimes, this crimes are of different nature and can be
classified as either delinquent acts or status offenses.
First, Rosie committed a crime of stealing several items from a local convenience
store. This crime is a delinquent act since it is illegal to steal and it is punishable
by law when committed by an adult. Other delinquent acts that she had been
