Cesar Chavez The reason why I chose this quote is because I felt that what Caesar Chavez said is true in many ways for many people. Many minority groups have been looked down on for many decades until they fought for their rights and their freedom. They informed, educated and took pride in themselves, nobody can take that away from us. I come from a Mexican family and I have many family members that do not speak English very well. That makes us more prone to humiliation by others because of our accents or color. But over the years we have showed them that we will not put up with discrimination. We started to fight for our rights and learned about where we can go to get help and guidance. We took pride in our beliefs. I believe there is noting more powerful that educating ourselves and being proud of where we came from and who we are.
