Lucinda Ballard was born on 3rd April 1906 and passed away on 19th August 1993. She
was an American based costume designer and worked in Broadway theatre. She was born in
New Orleans, Louisiana and schooled at the Art Students League in New York City. She died at
her home located at the Manhattan’s upper east side. She was aged eight-seven during her
demise. Lucinda Ballard’s death was caused by cancer. She left a great impact in the theatre and
design industries and her legacy still lives on years after she died.
She got her first professional credits while working as a scenic and costume designer for
production of “As you like it”, which was produced in 1937. In 1945, Miss Ballard won the
Donaldson Award, which was a high-status theatrical price. Though the award is no longer in
