  1. (Total Question worth 30 points ~ maximum of two pages for the entire question, and a minimum of 500 words). The discussion related to Requirement Volatility clearly points to the need for a deep understanding of requirements early in the process. The discussion related to “Why Systems Fail” points out that a lack of a formal methodology is clearly a weakness in many systems developments. Using these two findings as a backdrop please develop the following:
    1. (10 points) Why does “requirements understanding” drive Systems Engineering?
    2. (20 points) A detailed Systems Engineering process for defining the detailed formal requirements of whatever system you are developing.
  2. (Total Question worth 30 points ~ maximum of two pages for the entire question, and a minimum of 500 words). We have seen the economic and technical value of improving the level of CMMI for a systems development. Please address the following:
    1. (10 points) The Knox model shown on page 15 of the class notes for SE Module 11 that as the CMMI level goes up errors go down. So why does not every company strive for Level 5? Please be specific.
    2. (20 points) Using the above rationale that some companies do not need to hit Level 5, please develop a business model architecture that a company could use to help them determine the proper level to seek.

  1. (Total Question worth 10 points). In 250 words or more, but no more than a page, describe as many take-aways from Professor Shunk’s guest lecture as you can recall."I'll attach the note"

Discussion I: Requirement Volatility
Nowadays, various innovations have been executed and automated, even different models
of system have been implemented by IT department. Most of the project depends on different
system models and methodology during the process of the project, especially when it comes to
engineering system. Speaking of system failure, it is not really extraordinary issues, because,
many companies experienced this certain problem when they were going to perform the project.
There are many reasons why system failed, and, this will be the main focus of this section.
Below are just two factors of having a system failure:
1. The requirements understanding” drive Systems Engineering
When we said requirement understanding, it referred to the familiarity on what procedure
or methodology should the group or project team will implement. In some areas, project
methodology are handled carefully, but in some instances, those prepared procedures in which,
whatever it is, were probably not properly implemented, which been the cause of system failures.
Not implementing the methodology by some project team or in any department, is due to the lack
of requirement understanding. Requirements describe the helpful and physical needs of a thing or
an engineering system in processing the project. One may state, it fills in as the guide for project
creation, giving guidance and procedures to what is foreseen from the system or in areas of the
workplace. While there is a gigantic measure of work included, gathering a summary of
requirements is extremely the less requesting part; it is managing those essentials that winds up
caught and every now and again where projects go into deterioration. We can say that
requirements were not very well understand when:

Requirements is NOT define

Not defining the requirements proper could create a worse outcomes in the project or
system. The underlying advance of requirements organization is decisively getting the essential
and portraying it. Perplexity about what is required basically guarantees the requirement won't be
met and grows the shot of project frustration. An inside and out described need associates with a
customer requirement. This offers clearness to the change gathering and moreover keeps work
focused on gaini...
