He and some other guys in the warehouse conspire. They short her loads so she has to return to the warehouse to get items not delivered the first time. They double up items in boxes so that they are heavier than normal. Her gas tank isn't filled every evening, so she starts her shift late while waiting for it to be filled. They even take her braces from her cab and stick them in the lost and found. Sally ends up quitting because the working conditions become intolerable. 1. Recall the case scenario in which Josh, the retail store supervisor, had a physical altercation

unaware of these convictions as they do not conduct criminal background checks. If Josh hurts
someone on the job, the company could be liable for [two words]. ____ _____
The harm caused by Josh to a given individual and the compensation needed by that
injured person.
2. When you think about your compensation for your current job (or past job or future job if you
are not working now) -- which of these concepts matters the most to you in terms of feeling
fairly paid?
What matters most is the employee’s relative worth. As an organization’s worker, I will be
proud when my daily activities are recognized and praised by the firm’s leadership or the
co-workers, which is a sense of motivation to continue doing recommendable job and work
towards achieving the company’s goals. In the process, the promotions and rewards offered
would be enough to feel fairly compensated.
3. Watch the Dan Pink video. What is one thing you agree OR disagree with and why?
https://www.ted.com/talks/dan_pink_on_motivation?referrer=playlistthe_most_popular_talks_of_all
I disagree with the speaker’s argument that rewards do not motivate the workforce to provide
desirable output. I find it relatively unrealistic to perceive that rewards be they intrinsic or
extrinsic do not have a significant influence on the motivational outcome of available employees.

environments). There is movement within the US to move toward more pay transparency. Do
you think more transparency is good? Unnecessary? Bad? Please give one reason to support your
opinion.
More pay transparency is good for the employees since it will reduce the wage gaps and
biasness in the company. If all know everyone’s salary within the company, it will be
enough to make the executive managers cringe and they would want to know why they are
paid less compared to others, in case of satisfaction, they would strategize to stick around
and operate happily.
