Writing

Description

I do not have a specific question but I would like the topic to be about the Ottomans and it must meet all the criteria below and most importantly it has to cover the period of time mentioned in the book bellow.

you can write the paper( for instance) on a person ( Napoleon ) , event( Armenian Genocide )or set of people, , ( The Ottomans) no broad topic like the First World War . or Second World War ....

The research paper is of your choice as long as it covers the period that is being cover in the course. The paper will be 10 pages in length, double spaced, using 12 point font, submitted online. This should be similar to any paper you would write for other classes – including a title page, an introduction, body of text, a conclusion, and references/bibliography. APA or MLA format is acceptable.

Proper Citation of Sources.

When writing papers which use information from researched sources, it is necessary to provide complete and correct documentation to show the source of all words and ideas which are not those of the student. Failure to cite a source implies that the information used is the original work of the paper writer – a form of stealing known as “plagiarism.” In the college class, plagiarism is grounds for failure, no matter how well written the rest of the paper may be.

Do not use first person or contractions when writing. Also, remember that a successful term paper is not one that is written at the last moment, rather it is one that has been thought out, written, edited, and edited some more (you may consider turning in a rough draft or talking with me prior to the due date if you are unsure about how to approach writing the paper). Make sure you proofread! Nothing detracts from a paper (or grade) worse than a poorly written, mistake-filled paper.

When writing this research paper, you should attempt to address the following questions: Comprehensive introduction ( includes who, what, where , and when) with clear thesis statement that answers the question.

  • Why is this person or event important in Modern World History?
  • Does this individual or event represent an aspect that helped shape Modern World History?
  • Would Modern World History be different if not for the actions of this person or the occurrence of the events? (ensure you have a solid conclusion)

The Armenian Genocide

Introduction
The Armenian genocide in other words known as the Armenian Massacre is a
historical event that marks the death and evacuation of hundreds of thousands of Armenians.
This historical event happened during the time of Young Turks who was the then Armenian
emperor back in the year 1915 to 1917. The events took place in the Ottoman empire.
Evidence shows that the massacre was a systematic well laid out a plan that aimed at wiping
out a certain ethnic group in Armenia (Adalian, 2012). The plan was laid down by the
government, but Turk denied the claim that his government aided the massacre. This marked
the end of the search of the genocide perpetrators.
Despite the historical event reality being brought to light about the happenings of the
massacre, there are still doubts and questions that arise every now and then among the
scholars and the international community. Even when the world had strong claims and
accusation against the Turkish government about the happenings of the genocide, there is
continued persistent of the denial of the Turkish government and that of the scientists who
investigated the remains of the genocide.
They hold their ground that the death of the Armenians who were escorted by the
Turkish government to the place where they were to relocate to was not to be blamed on the
government guard only. They emphasized that there might be other causes such as diseases,
famine, and drought that were prevalent in the area after the world war 1. Despite these
claims, the world population still hold that the Armenian genocide.
The Armenian genocide can be proved by the number of people who were reported
dead during the episode. It is believed that it is the second from the massacre that happened in
the Holocaust. Historians argue that the only thing that anyone needs to do to be convinced

that there was a massacre is to look at a large number of deaths. It is said that during the
massacre approximately 1.5 million Armenians died.

Causes of the Armenian Genocide
The Armenian genocide is presumed to have been caused by a number of factors that
is political, social cultural and religious factors (Dadrian, 2017). In most cases, the factors
overlap as the issues related to each become evident over time. The Armenians faced direct
neglect, hatred, and insensitivity that could be termed as inhuman from those around them.
The genocide is something that could have been prevented especially considering the fact that
issues that catalyzed the massacre were recent issues that had happened from time to time in
the setting and interaction between the Armenians and the Turkish. The social-cultural and
the religious difference between the Armenians and the Turkish is the main catalyst that led
to the development of the political unrest during the time and it eventually led to the
genocide.
The first issue that was reported was the sudden change of attitude of the Ottoman
Empire and the Turkish towards the Armenians. These people had peacefully coexisted with
each other for a period of 600 years and more and there were no major conflicts that were
reported. The sudden change of attitude caused tension between the Armenians and the
Turkish and the Ottoman empire.
Due to the religion of the Armenians, the Turkish people viewed the beliefs of the
Armenians and their culture as that of an ‘Alien nation.’ It is due to this reason that much
hatred arose from the Turkish towards the Armenian people. Over the years, the Armenians
had lived in part of the Ottoman empire which was the hurt of Turkey. They had become a
treasurable asset to the Turkish people. They contributed loyally to the Turkish government
