The new york times reported on August 9, 2013 about the federal authorities'
planning to arrest two former employees of JPMorgan Chase & Co. on suspicion that
they tried to conceal a loss in the bank of about $6 billion experienced in 2012. The
suspects were Jullien Grout and Janvier Martin-Artajo whose jobs were to record the
value of the soured investment and oversee JPMorgan trading strategy respectively they
but did not perform their jobs as expected of them leading to a white collar crime
occurring. The loss occurred as a result of a hinge on the large wagers made by traders,
and this was first blamed on Bruno Iksil a JPMorgan trader. The London whale Brono
Iskil was blamed unfairly according to some investigator, but he ended up striking a deal
with the government, and it's not clear whether he was cleared of all the charges.
