1. Why do you think ancient peoples created cave paintings?
The ancient people didn’t have ways in which to communicate such as is the case nowadays.
Therefore cave paintings at the time were viable as they could allow future generations to
comprehend the history of the people that came before them.
2. Compare the paintings in the Altamira cave and the Lascaux cave. How are they different
or similar?
Both paintings are similar in composition and in the artistic structuring. It appears that the
ancient people used the same material to depict the art they wanted to communicate.
