The government of the United States is made up of three branches. These are the
judiciary, legislature, and the executive. These three branches have different roles as enshrined in
the constitution. The Judiciary is established by the constitution specifically in Article III making
it a branch of the U.S government (Ratner, 2016). It is important in complementing the other two
branches since it ensures that no particular branch is excessively powerful. The judiciary tends to
interpret the law and discipline the lawbreakers. Congress has hence been granted unique powers
of structuring and shaping the federal judicial branch. It has also determined the number of the
judges in the Supreme Court and also established other inferior courts. The removal of judges is
done by having the House of Representatives impeach them and having the Senate convict them.
Therefore, the impartiality of the courts is important as it reduces the powers of the other
government branches, enables people to retain their freedoms, and ensures that there is fairness
