Most people in criminal careers have been anchored by the criminal justice system via
labeling and reacting to them as ex-felons and criminals in the eyes of the law as well as the
society. Research has it that since the initiation of the labeling theory in 1951 by Lemert, t has
been proven that it is through criminal justice system as well as state intervention that criminals
