Student paper down below:

A code of conduct for a group or organization is an agreement on rules of behavior for the members of that group or organization (Collins Dictionary, 2018). It consists of a sincere regard for communal awareness that consist of honest, integral behaviors and decision-making (Colorado Technical University, 2018b). When we talk about code of conduct from other companies, there is where we find common ground(s) that exists in regards to the expectations and the compliance of legal and governmental policy, confidentiality, elimination of unjust rivalry, avoiding bribery attempts. A written code of conduct serves as a guideline for organizational decision making and communicates a standard level of established organizational standards and values (MUSE, n.d.).Adherence to these expectations are directly contributed with firm methods internally and corporate planning which is encircled into the culture of the company . There are various conduct codes that companies have and they expect all employees to follow them accordingly. Values, standards and beliefs are vital because they set the tone of the company’s culture and provide the standard in which their employees handle and act in regards of various issues that might occur. Code of conducts also displays to the public t he company’s belief from the outside view. In this regards, the company has to create a name for itself and establish trust from the community and exhibit a clear assurance to ethical conduct, if not there will be no c lientel to service. If a company ever loses faith to the public; they may never restore the name they want to have. When acompany is known for lack of integrity to the public, no one would want to partner with them.

Company executives and staff have an ethical and individual responsibility to produce an environment favorable tomoral behavior. A code of ethics or conduct is the foundation of establishing a respectable character for the organization’s office culture. A written code of conduct is necessary in the financial industry and many firmshave taken the stance of developing these codes of conduct to assist with legal fines based partly on the extent to which companies have taken steps to prevent the misconduct. So, while the“ code of conduct” may be in place, the extent to which it is adhered to and influenced by the management and leadership has everything to do with the type of culture that is going to beadhered to and created in the work environment. Managers and CEO’s will need to admit that their role in how the organization is shaped ethically and take the reins on how they exert their influence on the company culture. If this is not done, then the “code of conduct” is merely just words on a piece of paper.
