Course title Student name Institution affiliation APPLE INC. COMPANY Apple Inc is one of the biggest technology companies in America with the headquarters in Cupertino and basically deals with developing and designing electronic consumer goods. By 2017 the number of employees at the company stood at around 123 thousand, and this is only the number of full-time employees. The mission and vision of the company guide the employees on how to behave and also work as a team to be able to achieve the company's bigger goal. The core values of the company are followed to the latter by the employees to keep the company on its competitive position. This is a reputable company with low employee turnover according to the Human Resource report and pays better salaries with good working conditions. Apple Inc. The company has been successful over the years, but there are also times that it faced a lot of ups and downs from the year it was established. The success is attributed to being able to produce unique products which have improved customer loyalty to date. The fundamental driving forces for the company are derived from the five model forces of Porter which indicate the level of completion of the organization. The five forces incorporate the risk of new contestants to the commercial center, the danger of customers selecting substitute items, the haggling intensity of providers inside the business, and the dealing intensity of purchasers or shoppers inside the business' marketplace (Heracleous & Papachroni, 2016). Having a lot of product varieties that customers can choose from ensures that the customers are not lost to the competitors. The company has a strategy for competing in the marketplace because there are a lot of competitors that produce the same products as Apple Inc. The competitors include Samsung, Amazon, and Google and this is also established technology companies that can snatch all their customers in a blink of an eye. For this reason, Apple Inc. needs to up their game and come up with innovations day in day out. The threat of marketplace completion is a big issue for the company, and this has been dealt with over the years by producing new and unique products to strengthen its position. In regards to workforce diversity, Apple Inc. ensures that diversity of humanity is embraced by employing people from all works of life. Apple Inc. is a multigenerational company that fights for inclusion of everybody as the say goes humanity is not singular its plural, and the best way the world works is everybody in, nobody out. The team includes women, men, and disabled people; a recent report from the company indicated that the number female employed in the company is tremendously increasing. Every organization has a code of ethics that the employees are supposed to adhere to for the smooth operations, and Apple is not left out. Companies that deal with technology has to have a strong code of ethics because without this the employees can access confidential information from the customer's gargets and use it for their own gain. To prove that Apple has a strong ethical and moral obligation, there was an incidence that took place involving terrorists and the FBI wanted the Apple team to gain access to a phone linked with to the terrorists, but they declined to do so due to the fact that they would be invading the privacy of a customer and also creating a backdoor to their own device. Apple being a technology company has a lot of technological innovations as discussed earlier in the marketplace competition because for them to keep at par with their competitors they must be innovative in all ways to come up with new products in the market. It has been launching new and innovative products since it started operating and this is because they use the qualitative approach such as the opinion of the experts to come up with new innovative ways. Apple uses three approaches to come up with models of innovations, and this includes constructing statistical models by use of time series regression, and then they find the vacant technology and use social media to test it (Ledenyov & Ledenyov, 2015). According to Apple C.E.O, the company's driving force is whether they are making the best products in the market and enriching the lives of their customers if this is not achieved then their competitors will overtake them. Policies and practices influence all the major decisions an organization makes and this decisions also affect the customers. Apple has a lot of policies that are customer related because the customer is king and their information needs to be private. They have a privacy policy that protects the customer's vital information from being leaked to the public, and the employees must practice this policy due to the fact that they have access to every product that bears their logo. There is also a business conduct policy that guides all employees on how to behave when at the workplace. The principles include respect, honesty, compliance, and confidentiality and all these principles affect the performance of an organization. For instance, the issue on principle is not adhered to the employees will mistreat customers or if there is a breach in the confidentiality principle, then the customers will shy away from using Apple products and this, in turn, leads poor performance. The duty of the employees is to conform to the policies for the smooth running of the company. Every organization needs to employ people of different backgrounds to deal with the issue of diversity and if not done the organization can be accused of discrimination. But with diversity there are a lot of challenges that comes with it, for example, there are times that the organization requires employees to either stay late or come early to the office and this can affect the women in the workplace because they also need time to take care of the family. For an organization to address this effect, they need to have flexible working hours that favor the females because at the end of the day family is also important. Different companies have different policies on what to wear to work and some U.S companies don't really put a lot of emphasis on putting on formal outfits like the Colgate Company, but people from other countries might have a culture shock while working for such organizations (Valentine, Hollingsworth, & Francis, 2013). The individuals from other countries should be informed and trained in the company's culture for them to feel like part of the organization. The U.S companies engage a lot in outdoor team building activities, and people from different diversity may not be willing to engage in the outdoor activity, and this intern affects the teamwork spirit of the organization. This can be dealt with in a way that makes everyone feel valued through having open conversations with employees to understand their viewpoints. In conclusion, Apple, the fruity company, has grown over the years and is among the best technology companies with a lot of eye-catching innovations and their products are designed to meet the needs of the customers. But to be able to be relevant in the marketplace they need to continue with the innovations because technological changes are taking place every day and other strong technology companies are coming up. With the nature of the products that Apple produces and being known in the market, the company will continue to move to the top of the pyramid. It's also an inclusive company as it employs people from different backgrounds and they treat their employees with a lot of respect hence making the low employee turnover. With the increased women in higher positions in organizations there is a lot of diversity challenges that come with that as women are still the family caregivers and as much as they are working, they still need time to take care of the family. For other companies to get to the level of Apple they need to emulate how the company operates but all in all Apple is a disputed company. References Heracleous, L., & Papachroni, A. (2016).
