success cases around the globe.
Tobacco contains a chemical substance called nicotine which is primarily the cause of
addiction to all its users. This chemical makes it hard for smokers to do away with the smoking
habit thus causing the experienced levels of addiction in the globe (Coppens, 2017). The US
among other nations have had challenges in controlling the problem but however, the US has
recorded a decline in the cases of smokers in the recent years. The success is associated with the
anti-tobacco campaigns that are meant to sensitize people about the effects of the habit to not
only in social and economic value but also health wise.
In as much as the number of smokers in the US has dropped, the smokeless means of
absorbing nicotine into one’s body has increased over the years (Coppens, 2017). Most of the
smokers in the US are aware of the effects of engaging in the smoking habit but have had it
challenging to stop the habit.
For those that have been able to stop it, they must have tried severally before they could
fully counter this problem of smoking or addiction. The health sectors have been in the limelight
in engaging in organizing anti-tobacco campaigns as well as requesting the government to aid in
funding the quest in a bid to deal with the smoking habit in the US (Coppens, 2017).
