Having a diverse workforce ensures companies have an advantage over their competitors
since it enables them to meet the needs of their customers better thus successfully competing in
the market (Cascio, 1989).
Implementing the diversity policy involves the creation of a supportive and responsive workforce
in which diversity is highly considered. Diversity is a way in which people differ. Some of the
diversity dimensions are race, gender and any other differences leading to one’s incapacity to
perform a task.
Organizations which implement diversity policies in the inclusion of people with
disabilities in their programs increase their market influence. The disabled add to the review
needed to be successful and bring effective solutions to the business challenges.

Prevent people with disabilities from being harassed: Harassment to the disabled has been a
major issue in the workplace. Recognizing harassment is important in preventing the
discrimination of the disabled in the workplace. Even slight comments made jokingly may be

Uphold mutual respect amongst employees: Disrespect among the employees due to superiority
complex caused by disability causes may lead to unnecessary disunity. Once a company faces
the disunity problem its growth may go way too low.
Making the organization’s resources available to all employees: The diversity policy, should be
targeted towards implementing facilities which will make the company’s resources reachable by
all employees, regardless of their disability problems.
