Q1. Differences and similarities between a direct democracy and a representative
democracy
There exist some similarities and differences between the direct and representative democracy.
Despite some similarities, the two forms are very different in the analysis.
Both forms of democracy citizens are consulted later to provide their input in the
government. Moreover, there is a legislature that represents the people’s opinion. The two forms
of democracy allow the citizens to vote for some representatives. Further, lawmaking is based on
voting.
The differences between the two forms include; in direct democracy people are involved
constantly in all decisions regardless of the intensity whereas in representative people
involvement is not frequent and usually follows referendum after a stipulated time of years.
Direct democracy mostly works in small states like Athens while representative democracy
