Introduction
I took the self-assessment report that revealed various things about my leadership skills.
The report had 124 questions that required answers varying from ‘never’ to ‘always.’ The
questions were straightforward, and they touched on various types of leadership techniques and
skills. I am greatly amazed by the results because they reveal some strengths and weaknesses that
I did not know I possessed. I, therefore, need to develop a plan to tap those possibilities and
improve on the flaws to increase the efficiency of my leadership.
Analysis
The report reveals that my leadership effectiveness rated 4.59 out of a possible five
points. This means that I can use my skills to influence others. I scored equally high (above 4
points) on the self-awareness, authenticity, achieving, relations, and system-awareness while I
scored slightly above 1 point on the role of protector and controller. The results were further
analyzed in comparison to the norm group where I scored 97 percent on leadership effectiveness

leadership utilization (98%), reactive creative scale (99%), relating (91%), systems awareness
(91%), and achieving (88%). The score was reasonably high on self-awareness (71%);
authenticity (62%) and relationship-task balance (50%). On the other side, I have little
compliance (2%) to organizational rules because I can quickly make changes to solve an existing
problem. Unfortunately, I scored zero in the roles of protecting and controlling others. Maybe it
is because I prefer to mentor other than control team members.
