MARRIAGE AND FAMILY
The family is the basic unit that forms the society consisting of parents and siblings, there
are different types of families, and this includes nuclear families, extended families, childless
families, single-parent families and reconstituted families. All these different types of families
exist in our societies and in one way or the other help in building a society. Apart from these
types of family, there are also other types of family that an individual can find him or herself in.
The family of procreation is the family that comes through marriage, and the couple
decides to have children or adopt them. This type of family is the one that is created willingly
through marriage, for example, David and Ella met at a movie, they were sited next to each
other, and after the movie, David invited Ella for coffee and after this, they became close friends.
They started dating, and after some time they got married through a wedding and were blessed
with two children Kevin and Martha, David and Ella created a family of procreation voluntarily
(Kanopy (Firm), 2014). They taught their children to always respect and be kind to others and
above all trust in God.
The family of orientation, on the other hand, is the family that we are born into, and we
do not have a chance to choose the family that we find ourselves in. From the example above
David and Ella created a family of procreation but their children form part of the family of
orientation because they had no choice on which family to be born and raised in it. For Kevin
and Martha, their family of orientation consisted of respect and being kind to others.
The four steps of critical thinking consists of collecting the information, when making a
decision concerning something, it’s vital to collect all the information needed and then make the
best choice, for example when choosing a dress to wear to a party one needs to gather

information about the weather forecast and the dress code for the party. The next step is
evaluating the data, after the gathering...
