After watching the video titled “A Short History of Cryptography”, I learnt a lot concerning
cryptography. In the modern world, the cryptography is used as a tool that evokes imageries of
espionage and spies, messages with hidden meaning between governments and agents, and among
secret panels to conceal illegal documents.
Body
During the ancient days, Greeks applied steganography communicate important messages
without the knowledge of their enemies. According to the video, cryptography may be subdivided
into two types; that is substitution and transposition. Substitution entails using one symbol to mean
something else thus making the information completely unreadable.
In 1916, Zimmerman through cryptography came up with a technique to make sure that
