- Online discussion: Construct a response to the following discussion question(s). Keep your responses scientific, and justify using information from scientific sources. First read the portions in chapter 1 that discuss the characteristics of living things.
Viruses are generally lumped into a “germs” grouping with bacteria. Viruses are composed of a small amount of genetic material (DNA or RNA) wrapped in a protein coat. Can something so simple be considered a living organism? Why aren’t viruses mentioned in the system of classification covered in Chapter 1? (Hint: Consider the shared characteristics of all living organisms.)

You are expected to properly cite all peer-reviewed sources used to prepare the responses, according to APA formatting guidelines. Each response should be a minimum of 150 words,
