The food that we eat is very important to the development of our life and wellbeing. The
types of food we consider as helpful to our wellbeing are not just any type but their
constituents and contents matter a lot. A balanced diet is very important in everybody's meals
because every form of nutrients are contained and consumed at once. This helps the body to
acquire proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins fibre, and many other minerals which become
responsible for the growth and development of every part of our bodies; bones, blood,
intelligence and many others, not forgetting increased immunity which helps us evade
diseases. College and university students have been viewed to be faced with many problems
arising from their eating habits. Most of the time they lack a balanced diet or may lack crucial
meals for development. This has been attributed not only due to their class schedules but also
laziness at some moments.
Ethical problems
One of the food-related issues which have been found to be a problem facing students is the
fact that they do not pay attention to breakfast. This situation arises because due to the fact
that students mostly have tight morning schedules. Other students are seen to be too lazy and
would be found on beds still sleeping even when the breakfast time has reached. This issue
affects them especially educative skills. Research has proved that breakfast is one of the
important factors that make somebody be more creative, imaginative and even vital for

students who do not take breakfast would always have reduced class performance. The fact
that nights are also long, some students who attend the early lectures may also have reduced
concentration due to hunger but may not get a place to have their breakfast in school.
