The decision
Rita is considering whether or not to sell ABC Company’s bonds to an investor. The
financial document of ABC Company did not have a Debenture Redemption Reserve (DRR)
meaning that the company could be unable to repay its debt; however, the document was rated as
AAA. Rita knows that her organization is doing shrewd business and does not want to expose the
risk of loss to her client, on the other hand, she may deny her organization the profit from selling
the bond and rub her seniors the wrong way.
Decision options available

Rita can choose to comply with her boss and sell the bond to the unsuspecting client to
make a profit.

She also has the option to remain ethical and refuse to sell the bond for failure to comply
with the DRR requirements. Perhaps seek advice from the CEO over the issue.

Again, Rita can choose to caution the client and proceed to whistle-blow the shrewd
business taking place and her boss for insisting on selling the bond.
The recommended decision
The best decision for Rita is to remain ethical, refuse to sell the bond immediately until
she consults her CEO.
