Please No Plagarism, Stat Research Method
For this assignment, you need to think about the interconnectedness between theory, methods, statistics, and policy. Using specific examples from the literature (i.e., peer-reviewed articles), describe—in detail—how they inform each other. In doing so, choose at least one specific example of a successful or unsuccessful policy/program and how it may have been improved with knowledge gleaned from theory, methods, and statistics—you may discuss multiple programs but you only need to discuss one in detail. Some examples of programs might include: DARE, Scared Straight, CAP, My Brother’s Keeper Initiative, and Project HOPE. In your answer discuss:What theory the program is based on and if this theory has found support in the literature. What does this theory assume about human nature (i.e., what paradigm does it fall under)?2) Discuss if/how the studies/articles treated theory? Is this the best theory to inform this policy (e.g., is it a general theory, does it apply to all races, sexes, and age groups)? Or, is there a more appropriate theory? If so, what is it?3) Thinking methodologically, are evaluations of the program sound? Are they reliable? Are they valid (e.g., are they generalizable [discuss sample size])? Are the measures acceptable? Were control variables use (e.g., was the model correctly specified)?4) In terms of statistics, what type of analyses were used to evaluate the program? Did they control for spurious variables? Did the authors consider how the statistics used would impact their findings? Was the statistical analysis acceptable? Would you improve on anything?

For Step 2, you must submit a Microsoft Word document that summarizes the problem, provides your analysis of the work performed in Step 1, and recommends whether the company should open the mine, as described in the case.Alma has used the estimates provided by Dan to determine the revenues that could be expected from the mine. She also has projected the expense of opening the mine and the annual operating expenses. If the company opens the mine, it will cost $625 million today, and it will have a cash outflow of $90 million nine years from today in costs associated with closing the mine and reclaiming the area surrounding it.The expected cash flows each year from the mine are shown in the nearby table.Bullock Gold Mining has a 12 percent required return on all of its gold mines.Year Cash Flow0 −$625,000,0001 70,000,0002 129,000,0003 183,000,0004 235,000,0005 210,000,0006 164,000,0007 108,000,0008 86,000,0009 − 90,000,000Seth Bullock, the owner of Bullock Gold Mining, is evaluating a new gold mine in South Dakota. Alma has been asked by Seth to perform an analysis of the new mine and present her recommendation on whether the company should open the new mine.CHAPTER CASE Bullock Gold Mining1. Construct a spreadsheet to calculate the payback period, internal rate of return, modified internal rate of return, and net present value of the proposed mine.2.
