Question Description
After receiving permission from the appropriate authorities, a child psychologist sits in a van across the street from a grade school. She records all instances of children's play behavior. She also records the kinds of play behavior; e.g., dodge-ball, hop-scotch, jump-rope, play on jungle-gym, etc., and whether boys or girls are playing these games. In addition, she records the time of day, temperature, and whether it is raining or not for each observation period. She notices that boys tend to engage in more “rough-and-tumble” play than do the girls. She also notes that the children spend less time playing these games when it is raining.
Experimental or correlational? If experimental what are the manipulated variables?
