you might enjoy social work?
Having grown up in a moderately conflicted family, I learned the art of reconciling the
conflicting parties at a tender age. Besides I have always enjoyed fostering peaceful and
harmonious living in the societies which I have made great contribution through active
participation in humanitarian actives; these great concerns for humanity have always made me
realize that I can not only make the best social worker but also enjoy social work.

What would you have told the well-meaning adult who asked you what you

wanted to be when you grew up? How far have you come from that answer?
Of course, I would have said a doctor. All the same, I think I haven’t fallen far from this;
social work is all about fighting for better humanity just like a doctor does. So I feel I have
achieved this dream though in a different way.

Looking back over any job you might have had as a child or adolescent, was

there anything that suggested that you might go into social work?
I think I grew as a caring and concerned child -characteristics which I adopted from my
mother who is as well a social worker at Arizona. I sometimes feel like my journey to social
work was predetermined because every moment in my life has proved it right.

As I mentioned earlier, my mother and I are in the same profession and therefore coming
to lean on the same career was exciting to her and dad as well. My parents have been very
supportive of my career and profession especially using their experience to enrich me with

The great advantage of being a social worker is that you get to understand people and the
society in a different and better way; you also get to interact with so many people and
