Cultural anthropology
In this report, I will discuss the life history of Indonesia women who managed to migrate
to America. Their culture and life are examined in detail to show the different levels of life that
their cultural differences depict. Because of the importance shown by their families, the
information about their family will also be included. The existence of religious rituals will be
examined accurately and deeply analyzed on the basis of functional actions. The values of their
culture will be compared to ones practiced by the middle class whites who are found in
America1.
This is a group of women coming from the South of Indonesia in a small village in
Indonesia. Indonesia is seen as a country that has a tropical climate which is divided into cool
seasons, dry and rainy periods. The setting of their origin is merely a rural area where families
are usually employed in agricultural farms. They also practice selling of agricultural products
and sewing that is practiced in cottage industry. Young people are used to moving from the
Capital city of Indonesia to other areas of the country for a certain period. It was noticed that
there are extended families that live in houses that are separated but are found on common land
which is usually referred to as a compound2. In many instances, the female decides to live within
