1. Describe the success enjoyed by Disney's first international expansion initiative,
Tokyo Disney Resort, and the challenges faced by Disney Resort Paris? How do you
account for the significant different results?

worldwide, and it was indeed one of the most successful theme parks in the world. However, the
Disneyland Paris was one of the least successful Disney parks in the world as a whole due to

Tokyo Disney Resort was successful in this market due to more than 25 million visitors
and an annual operating income of more than US$245.47 million in 2005. Tokyo Disney Resort
was well received in the Japanese market due to the Japanese interest in the western cultures and
the Asian love for fantasy and costume (Young & Liu, 2017). The company was well received
with the hope of providing the Japanese market with a slice of unadulterated Disney-Style
American. The company’s success was also attributed to the fact that the company attracted
extensive support...
