A SUMMARY OF AN INTERVIEW WITH LUKE
Abstract
This essay presents a summary of an interview that I conducted a few days ago. I
interview Luke Lwanga, a university student and an immigrant from the Republic of Congo. I
met Luke a few days before the interview. I was introduced to him by a Mary, close friend who
is also an immigrant. I wanted to interview an immigrant to find out his immigration experience
and cultural adjustment. However, I wanted it to be someone who we have not known each other
before. I requested Mary to introduce me to one of her friends who fitted my requirement. She
was more than willing to help. I am grateful that Luke was willing to share his opinions and
experience as an immigrant. We agreed to meet at a café for coffee as I interviewed him. We
both felt that a coffee shop was a neutral and relaxing place and it would make a good
environment for us to have this interview.

America is very different from what he was used to in the country where he grew up in.
However, Luke said tha...
