examples of platforms are LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Google+, Pinterest, and YouTube. The organizations can be
national or can be local to your area.
In this assignment, you will need to include the following components:
- Provide information about the social media platform.
- Provide information about the organization and its campaign.
- Discuss the campaign based on the information discussed in the Unit V Lesson. (Is it effective? What, if anything, can the organization do to improve PR through social media?) You will need to reference at least two academic sources. Webpages provided by a company or organization (e.g., an “About Us” page) will be accepted for this assignment as a valid, academic source. Use the standard five-paragraph format (introduction/body/conclusion). APA format should be used. The assignment should be a minimum of three pages in length. Content, organization, and grammar/mechanics will be evaluated.

Introduction
Compared to public relations, social media is the new kid on the block. Social media
has been a game changer since the early 2000s thanks to smartphones and platforms such as
Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. On the other hand, public relation is a stalwart
of the marketing communications world. It has never disappeared. Instead, this discipline has
developed to incorporate social media as a useful communications tool. Currently, several
organizations use social media to gain coverage quickly and get their message to resonate
with new audiences. World Wildlife Fund is an example of an organization that integrated the
social media to raise awareness of the need to protect the most endangered species of wild
animals on the planet.
The social media platform
Founded in September 2011, Snapchat continues to innovate and evolve in such a
manner that keeps the social media industry on its toes. From the practical application of
augmented reality to smart filters and lenses, this social media platform logged more than 1
trillion snaps in the year 2017. This achievement is more than all the images that smartphones
