Cultural psychology was an advancement of Wilhelm Wundt, the founding father of modern
psychology as an academic discipline. This psychologist formed the first laboratory, spearheaded
the first journal and started experimental psychology as a science. Wundt focused on areas which
included sensation, perception, feeling, attention, association, and reaction in his studies (Goodwin,
